When is the right time for solid food?

For the first three months, infants are entirely dependent on milk. from the fourth month onwards, you may start giving him solid food such as rice cereals, which are soft and need not be chewed by your baby. By this time, he may already be teething.

To ensure healthy teeth and gums, iron-fortified cereals are the recommended. Such meals may be given twice a day, one in the morning and another at dinnertime. At first, your baby may not like the food.

Eventually, however, he will get used to the taste and texture of solid food and pretty soon, he may even enjoy eating vegetables.
