Why Pregnant Women gain Weight?

During pregnancy, the fetus, uterus, placenta, and increased bodily fluids add to your body weight. Your body also has to store fats and other nutrients needed by your growing baby. The weight gained by women varies at different stages of pregnancy. The most rapid increase-approximately 9-13 kg. (20 to 30 lbs) occurs in the final three months of pregnancy. It cannot be overemphasized that while the baby inside your womb is growing. It is advisable to stay healthy and fit. It is preferable to eat a well-balanced diet so your body can get all the essential nutrients for energy absorption needed you and your baby.
